WorkPass successfully provides access to dependable and affordable transportation for thousands of New Jersey residents each day. By purchasing monthly passes and/or tickets from NJ TRANSIT through WorkPass, public and non-profit social service agencies are able to provide access to employment opportunities, job training, medical services, childcare and other personal and family activities. WorkPass saves money by eliminating the need for time-consuming and labor-intensive cash reimbursements, costly taxi and limousine services or the expense of buying or leasing vehicles to transport clients.

WorkPass puts NJ TRANSIT, the nation's third largest provider of bus, rail and light rail services to work for you. NJ TRANSIT takes you out of the transportation business, giving you more time to do what you do best. No longer will program participants fail to attend work or a scheduled event due to lack of funds or the unreliability of their transportation.

How Does It Work?

Public and non-profit social service agencies can purchase NJ TRANSIT monthly commuter passes and one-way tickets to distribute to program participants, clients or students to use for job searches, interviews, medical visits or attending classes. Monthly passes allow for unlimited rides on NJ TRANSIT bus, rail and light rail services for an entire calendar month. WorkPass also makes it easy for families to travel together. Discounted tickets for children 5 to 11 years of age or younger can be purchased through WorkPass and children 4 years old and younger ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying adult.
