UPDATE: Journal Square Lane Closure due to Enhancement Project – Saturday, April 6, 2024

Beginning Tuesday, January 16, 2024, phase 1 of an ongoing construction project at Journal Square Transportation Center will begin. Lane D will be closed for approximately a four-month period, which is subject to change. During this time, ALL NJ TRANSIT buses that serve Journal Square Transportation Center bus lanes are subject to change in terms of their arrival and departure lanes. UPDATE: On Saturday, April 6, bus route no. 119 will be on a limited overnight schedule. More information can be found HERE. Also beginning on Saturday, April 6, bus route no. 64 will no longer serve Journal Square Transportation Center. More information can be found HERE.

The following lane assignments will be effective on Saturday, April 6, 2024:

Lane A:

  • A1 – 80/80S to Jersey City/Gates Avenue/Society Hill via West Side Avenue
  • A2 – 87 to Jersey City/Gates Avenue via Martin Luther King Drive
  • A3 – 319 to Atlantic City

Lane B (All overnight service in Lane B remains unchanged):

  • B1 – 10 to Bayonne and 119 to Bayonne between 11:01PM - 4:29AM
  • B2 – 6 and 83 serving Jersey City via Ocean Avenue, and Hackensack
  • B3 – 8 and 14 serving Jersey City and Bayonne via Bergen Avenue and Jersey City/Society Hill via Sip, Duncan, and Mallory avenues
  • B4 – Community Lines (NJT 119 to New York 11:01PM - 4:29AM)

Lane C:

  • C1 – 87 to Hoboken
  • C2 – 1 and 80 serving Newark and Exchange Place
  • C3 – 2 and 84 serving Secaucus and North Bergen
  • C4 – 88 and 125 serving North Bergen and New York

Lane D:

  • CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTION

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a multi-phase, long-term rehabilitation project. As phases change, lane closures will continue to alternate. During that time, notices will be updated, and directional signage will be provided for customers.
