Bus Detour for No. 48 in Rahway – Saturday, May 10, 2025

Effective Saturday, May 10, from 6AM until 7PM, Irving Street/Main Street/Milton Avenue will be closed between Elizabeth and Hamilton avenues due to the Hot Rods & Harley’s Event.  

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 48 will operate on a detour as follows:

  • Woodbridge Service:
    • Buses traveling toward Elizabeth will travel from Jaques and West Milton avenues, make a left on West Milton Avenue, right on Bryant Street, right on Central Avenue, bear right on Main Street, left on Elizabeth Avenue, and then continue the regular route.
    • Buses traveling toward Woodbridge will travel from Elizabeth and West Main Street, make a right on West Main Street, bear left onto Central Avenue, left on Bryant Street, left on West Milton Avenue, right on Jaques Avenue, and then continue the regular route.
  • Perth Amboy Service:
    • Buses traveling toward Elizabeth will travel from Hazelwood Avenue and Lawrence Street/Woodbridge Road, make a right on Lawrence Street, left on East Grand Avenue, right on Elizabeth Avenue, and then continue the regular route.
    • Buses traveling toward Perth Amboy and Woodbridge via Carteret will travel from Elizabeth Avenue and West Grand Avenue, make a left on West Grand Avenue, right on Lawrence Street, left on Hazelwood Avenue, and then continue the regular route. 

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
