Bus Detour for Nos. 29, 71 & 73 in Newark – Friday, April 18, 2025

Beginning Friday, April 18 at 6AM, and continuing until Friday, April 25, Orange Street will be closed between 2nd and 1st streets due to road construction.  

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route Nos. 29, 71 and 73 will operate on a detour as follows:

  • Buses traveling toward Newark Penn Station will not be affected.   
  • Buses traveling toward West Caldwell, Florham Park and Livingston will travel from Orange and 1st streets, make a left on 1st Street, right on US 280 West, and then continue the regular route. 

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
