Bus Detour for Nos. 59 & 113S in Plainfield – Friday, April 4, 2025

Effective Friday, April 4, from 7AM until 10AM, and again from 7PM until 9PM, Watchung Avenue will be closed between East 2nd and East 5th streets due to a movie shoot.

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route Nos. 59 and 113S will operate on a detour as follows:

  • Buses traveling toward Newark/New York will travel from East 2nd Street and Park Avenue, make a right on Park Avenue, left on East 5th Street, and then continue the regular route.
  • Buses traveling toward Dunellen will travel from Watchung Avenue and East 4th Street, continue on East 4th Street, continue right on Park Street, left on Front Street, and then continue the regular route. 

Note: Bus Route 113S Express trips originating in Plainfield will begin service on East 5th Street and Watchung Avenue.  

Bus stops may be lost, and minor delays are expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully and allow for extra travel time.
