Bus Detour for No. 24 in East Orange – Effective Immediately

Effective immediately and continuing until 11PM on Tuesday, November 12, Central Avenue will be closed between Evergreen Place and Halstead Street due to a Water Main Repair. 

During this time, NJ TRANSIT Bus Route No. 24 will operate on a detour as follows:

  • Buses traveling toward Elizabeth/Jersey Gardens Mall will travel from Central Avenue and Evergreen Place, make a left on Evergreen Place, right on Harvard Street, right on Halstead Street, left on Central Avenue, and then continue the regular route. 
  • Buses traveling toward Orange/Erie Loop will not be affected.        

Bus stops will be lost and minor delays expected during this detour. Please read the above detour directions carefully, and allow for extra travel time.
