Bus Route No. 986: New Schedule – Effective Friday, November 1, 2024

Effective Friday, November 1, 2024, NJ TRANSIT will begin direct operation of the 986 Line (Summit – Murray Hill – Plainfield). 

A new schedule will be effect. Departure times from Summit, Plainfield, and mid-day from Summit Medical Group’s Campus in Berkeley Heights have changed. Click HERE to view the new schedule.

Larger NJ TRANSIT buses will be used on this route to accommodate passengers. Customers can pay the exact fare using the fare box on the bus. Scanners and Tap & Ride are available for electronic fare payment.

With our next system-wide schedule change, the 986 line will be active on the MyBus application by January 11, 2025.
