RAILROAD MUSEUM DAY
THANK YOU ALL FOR ATTENDING IN 2024. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL IN 2025.
The “Boonton Scoot” will Provide Service Between Denville and Boonton in Support of Annual Railroad Display at United Railroad Historical Society.
On Sunday, September 29, NJ TRANSIT will activate a special one-day shuttle service between Denville and Boonton, making it easier for people traveling from Penn Station New York and points in between, to attend the United Railroad Historical Society’s annual Railroad Museum [for a day].
The “Boonton Scoot” special shuttle trains will meet certain regularly scheduled NJ TRANSIT trains to and from New York City at the Denville Station transfer point. (See schedule below). Riders may purchase regular tickets to Boonton Station through the NJ TRANSIT app and ticket vending machines. However, real-time arrival and departure information will not be available for the shuttle since it is a special service.
Condensed “Boonton Scoot” Schedule*
*Condensed schedule only. Passengers are welcome to board from other intermediate station
stops along the Morristown Line. See www.njtransit.com for full Morristown Line schedules.
The one day Railroad Museum tells the story of NJ TRANSIT and its predecessor railroads through a large array of historic rail equipment mostly donated by the agency, including ALP-44 Locomotive No. 4424, donated to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of NJ TRANSIT rail operations in 2023. Guests to the event may view No. 4424 and other historic equipment in a lively, family-friendly environment. The Boonton Day Street Festival, also taking place that day, is just a short walk from the museum and Boonton Station.
Rail service between Denville and Boonton does not regularly operate on weekends.
