Trains offer convenient, affordable service to the event on March 31

NEWARK, NJ — Soccer fans attending the Argentina vs. Ecuador soccer match at MetLife Stadium on Tuesday, March 31 have a convenient and affordable travel option via the Meadowlands Rail Line to MetLife Stadium for the event. 

 

The Meadowlands Rail Line gives fans statewide rail access to the Meadowlands Sports Complex from 11 of 12 NJ TRANSIT rail lines connecting at Secaucus Junction.

 

What fans need to know:

  • On Tuesday, March 31, the first train will depart Secaucus Junction at 5:32 p.m., arriving at the Meadowlands at 5:45 p.m. Trains will depart approximately every 15 minutes from Secaucus until 8:17 p.m.   
  • Trains will operate between the Meadowlands Rail Station and Secaucus Junction approximately every 15 minutes after the game. 
  • After Tuesday’s game, the last train will depart the Meadowlands no earlier than 12:05 a.m. and arrive at Secaucus Junction at 12:19 a.m.
  • Customers should note that there is NO direct service from Hoboken to the Meadowlands and must change trains at Secaucus.

 

Travel tips:

  • Customers traveling on NJ TRANSIT trains to the Meadowlands Sports Complex should purchase their roundtrip tickets from their originating station to the Meadowlands Sports Complex to avoid delays boarding trains. Tickets purchased on the train will include a $5 surcharge per ticket.
  • NJ TRANSIT MyTix customers can also use the mobile app to conveniently purchase tickets to the Meadowlands Sports Complex. Mobile tickets include a barcode scan for access through the fare gates. Select Meadowlands as the destination for events at MetLife Stadium.
