SPECIAL SCHEDULES SET FOR PRESIDENTS' DAY

NEWARK - NJ TRANSIT trains will operate on an enhanced weekend/major holiday schedule on Presidents' Day, Monday, February 21. However, the Montclair-Boonton and Pascack Valley lines - which normally do not operate on weekends or holidays - will have limited service.

On the Montclair-Boonton Line, Hoboken-bound trains will originate from Lake Hopatcong at 5:38 a.m., 6:38 a.m. and 7:38 a.m. MidTOWN DIRECT trains will depart Montclair State University Station at 6:35 a.m., 7:35 a.m., 8:35 a.m. In the afternoon, Montclair State University-bound MidTOWN DIRECT trains will depart New York Penn Station at 3:51 p.m., 4:51 p.m. and 5:51 p.m. Lake Hopatcong-bound trains will depart Hoboken at 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. For the complete schedule, click here.

On the Pascack Valley Line, southbound trains will depart Spring Valley, N.Y., at 6:20 a.m., 7:20 a.m. and 8:25 a.m. and arrive in Hoboken 7:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m. and 9:35 a.m., respectively. In the afternoon, northbound trains will depart Hoboken at 2:17 p.m., 4:17 p.m., 5:17 p.m. and 6:17 p.m. and arrive in Spring Valley at 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively. Friday, February 18

NJ TRANSIT will provide early getaway trains will operate in addition to regular weekday schedules:

Northeast Corridor

  • Train 8847 will depart New York at 1:54 p.m., stop at Newark Penn Station at 2:09 p.m., stop at Newark Liberty International Airport at 2:14 p.m., operate express to Metropark, and then make all stops to Trenton, where it will arrive at 3:11 p.m.
  • Train 8849 will depart New York at 2:30 p.m., stop at Newark Penn Station at 2:46 p.m., stop at Newark Liberty International Airport 2:51 p.m., operate express to Metropark, and then make all stops to Trenton, where it will arrive at 3:51 p.m.
  • Train 8853 will depart New York at 3:27 p.m., stop at Newark Penn Station at 3:44 p.m., stop at Newark Liberty International Airport at 3:50 p.m., operate express to Metropark, and then make all stops to Trenton, where it will arrive at 4:50 p.m.

North Jersey Coast Line

  • Train 8301 will depart Newark Penn Station at 3:47, operate express to Woodbridge, and then make all stops to Bay Head, where it will arrive at 5:40 p.m. Connecting service for this train will depart New York at 3:23 p.m., stop at Secaucus at 3:33 p.m., and stop at Newark Penn Station at 3:42 p.m.

Bus

NJ TRANSIT buses will operate on a Saturday or holiday schedule on Monday, February 21. Customers should check the Holiday Service Box on their timetables or visit NJTRANSIT.com for specific information about their route.

Light Rail

  • The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail will operate a weekend schedule on Monday, February 21.
  • The Newark City Subway will operate a Saturday on Monday, February 21.
  • The River LINE will operate a Sunday schedule on Monday, February 21.

Family SuperSaver Fares

Family SuperSaver Fares will be in effect from 7 p.m. on Friday, February 18 until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22. Under the Family SuperSaver program, up to two children, ages 5 through 11, can travel free when accompanied by a customer paying any fare except a child or student fare.
