NEWARK, NJ ¿ This Saturday, August 26, the Greater Burlington Chamber of Commerce presents the 13th annual Festival of Lights from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the Delaware River Promenade in Burlington, NJ. Visitors can ride NJ TRANSIT¿s River LINE directly to Burlington Towne Centre Station for a day of food, fun and fireworks!
The festival offers fun for everyone, including live entertainment by The Troublemakers and Mark Reno & The Blue Smoke Band, free tours of historic sites and a boat parade followed by a fireworks finale. Children of all ages will enjoy rides, games and activities throughout the day.
New this year is the "Burlington Tour de Lights," four bike races held on the streets of scenic Burlington, offering more than $1,200 in prizes. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m.
The cost for a one-way trip on the River LINE is only $1.25, and parking is free at most stations along the route. Take the kids and save with NJ TRANSIT¿s Family Super Saver Fare, which allows up to two children 11 and younger to travel free with each fare-paying adult every weekend from 7 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday.
