NJ TRANSIT POLICE TO CONDUCT EMERGENCY RESPONSE DRILL NEAR SOUTH AMBOY STATION

Exercise to take place Saturday, October 25 starting at 8 a.m.

NEWARK, NJ — The NJ TRANSIT Police Department Office of Emergency Management, together with federal, state and local partners, will conduct a training exercise on Saturday, October 25 in the area of South Amboy Station to test responses from multiple agencies to a simulated transportation incident.

 

Also participating in the exercise will be the South Amboy Police Department, South Amboy Fire Department, South Amboy EMS, South Amboy Office of Emergency Management, Sayreville Fire Department, Middlesex County Office of Emergency Management, NJ EMS Taskforce, Federal Railroad Administration and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.

 

The exercise will begin at approximately 8 a.m. and take about four hours to complete.  Rail service on the North Jersey Coast Line will operate on a normal Saturday schedule.

 

In addition, customers may notice an increased presence of police and emergency personnel along the North Jersey Coast Line in South Amboy, and local residents may see activity in the staging area at the train station and in the area of South Broadway Street.
