NJ TRANSIT POLICE TO CONDUCT EMERGENCY RESPONSE DRILL AT MONTCLAIR STATE UNIVERSITY STATION

Exercise to take place Sunday March 15

NEWARK, NJ — The NJ TRANSIT Police Department Office of Emergency Management, together with federal, state, county and local partners, will conduct a training exercise on Sunday, March 15^th at the Montclair State University (MSU) Train Station.

The drill, which will gauge responses from multiple agencies to a simulated transportation incident, will begin at approximately 9 a.m. and take about four hours to complete.  Rail service on the Montclair- Boonton Line will operate on a normal weekend schedule from Bay Street Station.  In addition, customers may notice an increased presence of police and emergency personnel along the Montclair- Boonton Line in the Little Falls area specifically along Clove Road.

In addition to the NJTPD personnel, the following entities will also be participating in the exercise:  MSU Police Department, MSU Office of Emergency Management, MSU EMS, Little Falls Police Department, Little Falls Fire Department, Little Falls Office of Emergency Management, Totowa Fire Department, Woodland Park Fire Department, Montclair Fire Department, Clifton Fire Department, Wayne Fire Department, Totowa EMS, Woodland Park EMS, Cedar Grove EMS, Montclair EMS,  Wayne EMS,  Passaic County  Sheriff’s Department, Passaic County Prosecutors Office, Passaic County Office of Emergency Management, St Joseph’s Medical Center,  NJ EMS Taskforce, Federal Railroad Administration, FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, and additional mutual aid agencies.
