NJ TRANSIT POLICE TO CONDUCT DRILL AT TRENTON TRANSIT CENTER

NEWARK, NJ — The NJ TRANSIT Police Department, along with Trenton Police and Fire departments, will conduct a training exercise on Sunday, June 27 at the Trenton Transit Center to test a response from multiple agencies to a simulated train incident. 

 

Also participating in the exercise will be Amtrak; SEPTA; Trenton EMS; Mercer County Office of Emergency Management; EMS task force; and NJ TRANSIT Rail and Bus Operations, as well as other county, state and federal agencies.

 

The drill will begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. and take about three hours to complete.  During the drill, customers may notice police and emergency personnel in and around the station. 

 

Trenton Transit Center will remain open during the exercise, and rail service will continue to operate normally. 

 

The exercise is being supported by the NJ State Exercise Support Team and is sponsored by the NJ Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness.
