NJ TRANSIT TO OFFER EXPRESS BUS SERVICE TO MOUNTAIN CREEK SKI RESORT

Seasonal service starts Sunday, December 26 from Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center and New York

NEWARK, NJ — Looking for a fun family daytrip over the holidays?  NJ TRANSIT has a great idea:  Starting Sunday, skiers and snowboarders can take advantage of NJ TRANSIT’s seasonal express bus service from New York and Wayne to Mountain Creek ski resort in Vernon, NJ.  The service will operate every weekend through March 6, including on major holidays.

 

  • Bus service will operate daily from Sunday, December 26, 2010, through Sunday, January 2, 2011 (including New Year’s Day). 

 

  • Beginning Saturday, January 8, service will operate on weekends and holidays through Sunday, March 6 (including Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Presidents’ Day). 

 

Buses will depart from Port Authority Bus Terminal Gate 326 at 7:30 a.m., pick up passengers at Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center at 8 a.m. and arrive at Mountain Creek at 9:12 a.m.  Return trips will depart Mountain Creek at 4:30 p.m., stop at Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center at 5:40 p.m. and arrive at the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 6:12 p.m.  These express buses will not make local stops.

 

Roundtrip fare from the Port Authority Bus Terminal is $25.50 for adults and $11.50 for seniors and customers with disabilities.

 

From Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center, roundtrip fare is $8.80 for adults and $4.00 for seniors and customers with disabilities.

 

NJ TRANSIT’s Family Super Saver Fare allows up to two children 11 and younger to travel free with each fare-paying adult on weekends and holidays, as well as December 27 through 31, 2010. 

 

Save up to $10 when you ride NJ TRANSIT

 

All customers 19 and older can receive a $10 discount off Mountain Creek weekend/holiday lift tickets.  Children and teens ages 7-18 and senior citizens age 65 and older receive a $6 discount on weekends and holidays.  The discount is available by showing a valid NJ TRANSIT bus receipt at the Mountain Creek admission office.
