NJ TRANSIT FURTHER IMPROVES MORRIS COUNTY BUS SERVICE

Local bus service changes take effect November 15

NEWARK, NJ — NJ TRANSIT is implementing schedule and route changes to Morris County local bus service effective Monday, November 15, 2010, in response to customer requests and to further improve bus service since the October 4 restructuring of local bus service.

 

NJ TRANSIT is advising customers of the following changes:

 

  • 871 Morristown – Boonton – Willowbrook:  On weekdays and Saturdays, departure times on most trips have been adjusted by two to six minutes either earlier or later throughout the day. 
  • 872 Morristown – Greystone – Dover:  On weekdays, service will now operate every 65 minutes instead of every 60 minutes throughout the day.  Departure times on most trips have been changed by 15 to 30 minutes, operating either earlier or later.  Service will also now start 30 minutes later in the morning and end 30 minutes later in the evening.
  • 873 Greystone – Morristown – Livingston:  On weekdays, service will now operate every 65 minutes during peak periods and every two hours and 10 minutes during the midday hours.  Departure times on most trips have been changed by five to 25 minutes, operating either earlier or later.  On Saturdays, service will now operate every hour and 15 minutes to every 2 hours and 10 minutes throughout the day.  Departure times on most trips have been changed by ten to 25 minutes, operating either earlier or later. 
  • 874 Morristown – Willowbrook Mall via US 46:  On weekdays and Saturdays, departure times on most trips have been adjusted by two to six minutes either earlier or later throughout the day. 
  • 875 Rockaway – Dover – Roxbury via County College of Morris:  On weekdays, departure times have been changed by 15 to 40 minutes, operating either earlier or later throughout the day. Service will now start 45 minutes earlier in the morning and service will end 25 minutes earlier in the evening.  A new trip has been added at 7:38 a.m. from Rockaway Townsquare to the County College of Morris in Randolph.
  • 878 Morris (Convent Station) – Florham Park (Campus Drive):  On weekdays starting November 8, the 4:45 p.m. trip from Morris Township (Crum & Forster) to Convent Station has been changed to depart at 4:44 p.m.
  • 880 Morristown – Dover – Rockaway:  On weekdays, service will now operate every 65 minutes instead of every 60 minutes throughout the day. Departure times on most trips have been changed by five to 25 minutes, operating either earlier or later. On Saturdays, service will now operate every hour and 15 minutes to 2 hours and 30 minutes instead of every hour to two hours. Departure times on most trips have changed by 15-30 minutes, operating either earlier or later throughout the day. For customers traveling to and from the Mack-Cali Business Campus in Parsippany, service on the No. 880 will now operate on Sylvan Way, Dryden Way in addition to Campus Drive.
