Up To Two Children Under 18 Ride Free With A Fare-Paying Adult For This Special One Day Promotion

April 27, 2022

NEWARK, NJ — NJ TRANSIT wants to help you “Take Your Daughters and Sons To Work” this Thursday, by offering your children a free ride to your office! A special enhanced edition of NJ TRANSIT’s Family SuperSaver fare will be in effect for one day only on Thursday, April 28th, offering each fare-paying adult the opportunity to bring two children under the age of 18 for free. Kids love going to their parents’ office, and parents love free stuff. It’s a deal the whole family will love!

“NJ TRANSIT’s ‘Take Your Daughters and Sons To Work Day’ offer is a great way to encourage parents and caregivers to spend a special day with their children,” said New Jersey Department of Transportation Commissioner and NJ TRANSIT Board Chair Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti. “Family is everything and this is a great way to help adults bring their personal and professional lives together for this day with their children.”

“The enhanced ‘Family SuperSaver’ is a great opportunity for parents to not only bring their children with them to work but also a great time to introduce them to public transportation,” said NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kevin S. Corbett. “Many of these children will be future NJ TRANSIT customers so I’m happy they will get to learn about public transportation alongside their parents with the help of this special offer.”

“NJ TRANSIT is proud to offer this family friendly promotion,” said NJ TRANSIT Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Bill Viqueira. “As a father of four, I know how important every minute with your children is and we’re pleased to make it easier for our customers to enjoy the benefits of the ‘Take Your Daughters and Sons To Work’ day.”

This enhanced version of the “Family SuperSaver” promotion is valid only on Thursday, April 28 and makes two kids up to the age of 18 eligible to travel free with each fare-paying adult. Up to three children under age five can ride for free at any time with each fare-paying adult. Children do not need a ticket to enjoy the Family SuperSaver fare or the enhanced version on April 28th.
