NJ TRANSIT ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF BON JOVI TICKET SWEEPSTAKES

Contest highlights summer services to New Jersey attractions

NEWARK, NJ — NJ TRANSIT today announced the lucky winners of its Bon Jovi ticket sweepstakes, which launched last week to give customers a great incentive to check out its Summer Services on njtransit.com/summer.

 

The grand prize winner in the random drawing is Mikelle Komor, of Verona, NJ, who will receive ten tickets to see Bon Jovi perform live at New Meadowlands Stadium on Saturday, May 29, as well as complimentary rail transportation to the show from any NJ TRANSIT rail station. 

 

The ten second-prize winners, who will each receive four concert tickets, plus rail transportation, are:

Train service on the Meadowlands Rail Line will operate for each of the Bon Jovi concerts this week and for other major events at New Meadowlands Stadium this summer.  The new line gives fans statewide rail access to the Meadowlands Sports Complex from 11 of 12 NJ TRANSIT rail lines, with connections at Hoboken Terminal and Frank R. Lautenberg Station at Secaucus Junction.

 

The Bon Jovi ticket sweepstakes was designed to promote NJ TRANSIT’s “Jersey’s Got It” public education campaign, which highlights great summer attractions within the Garden State that are accessible by public transportation.

 

With Memorial Day marking the “unofficial” start of summer, this weekend is a great time for customers to take advantage of NJ TRANSIT’s discounted travel packages to destinations including the Jersey Shore, Six Flags Great Adventure and Monmouth Park:

 

  • Beach Packages:  Save up to $6.50 on admission to one of five beaches— Long Branch, Asbury Park, Ocean Grove, Bradley Beach and Belmar—by purchasing round-trip train fare and a beach pass for one price at NJ TRANSIT ticket vending machines (choose “Special Promotions” and select “Beach Package”) or at ticket windows.  Customers can purchase the package for $31.50 from New York Penn Station or any station on the Main, Bergen County or Pascack Valley lines, and for $23.50 from Hoboken Terminal or Newark Penn Station. 
  • Six Flags Great Adventure or Hurricane Harbor:  Save up to $47.48 by purchasing round-trip bus transportation and park admission together.  NJ TRANSIT provides express bus service to Six Flags from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York, Newark Penn Station, Philadelphia Greyhound Terminal and the Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden.  Customers traveling to Six Flags on the 307 bus from Freehold can also save up to $47.48 on park admission by presenting their bus fare receipt at the Six Flags guest services window. 
  • Monmouth Park:  Board a train anywhere on NJ TRANSIT's rail system and save $5.00 when you travel to Monmouth Park Racetrack.  Simply purchase a round-trip package to Monmouth Park from NJ TRANSIT ticket vending machines (choose “Special Promotions” and select “Monmouth Park”) or at ticket windows, and receive Grandstand Admission and an official track program for $1 plus round-trip train fare. 

 

On weekends, kids ride free on NJT

 

Every weekend, families riding NJ TRANSIT can save with the Family Super Saver Fare, which allows two children 11 and younger to travel free with each fare-paying adult.  For the Memorial Day holiday weekend, the program will be in effect from 7 p.m. Friday, May 28 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 1.
