NJT-10-076
NEWARK, NJ — Beginning on or about Thursday, November 11 and continuing through Friday, November 19, 2010, NJ TRANSIT will make improvements to the West Bergen Place railroad crossing in Red Bank. The work, which includes renewal of the track bed and road surface as well as drainage improvements, will result in a smoother ride for motorists traveling over the crossing.
To accommodate this work, West Bergen Place will be closed to motor vehicles between Maple and Shrewsbury avenues during this time. (Local traffic only; no motor vehicles may cross tracks.) All motorists will be detoured around the crossing as follows:
- Westbound: Motorists will turn left on Maple Avenue, right on Newman Springs Road, right on Shrewsbury Avenue, and then left on West Bergen Place.
- Eastbound: Motorists will turn right on Shrewsbury Avenue, left on Newman Springs Road, left on Route 35 (Broad Street), continue on Maple Avenue, and then right on East Bergen Place.
North Jersey Coast Line train schedules will not be affected by this work. However, customers should be aware of possible boarding changes at Red Bank and Little Silver stations during this time.
