NJ TRANSIT ADJUST RAIL SCHEDULE TO INCLUDE SUMMER SERVICE TO THE SHORE

NEWARK -- Beginning, Sunday, June 13, NJ TRANSIT will adjust its rail schedules to accommodate summer services on the North Jersey Coast Line.

Changes to the North Jersey Coast Line

Train 7227 will depart New York at 9:01 a.m. on Saturdays and stop at Newark Penn Station and Long Branch only.

Train 7262 will depart Long Branch at 7:43 p.m. on Sundays and holidays, including Monday July 5th and Monday September 6th. The train will make stops at Newark Penn Station and New York Penn Station.

Connecting shuttles for the New York express trips are:

Train 4727 will depart Long Branch at 10:16 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, making all stops to Bay Head except Elberon and Allenhurst.

Train 4762 will operate Sundays only, departing Bay Head at 6:56 p.m. and making all stops to Long Branch except Allenhurst and Elberon.

There will be two additional Bay Head-Long Branch shuttles:

Train 4768 will depart Bay Head at 8:28 p.m. and make all stops to Long Branch, where a connection is available to Train 7268.

Train 4773 will depart Long Branch at 9:42 p.m. and make all stops to Bay Head.

NJ TRANSIT will add weekend express service from Hoboken Terminal by adding three eastbound and three westbound trains.

The following are all eastbound trains will operate Saturdays, Sundays and holidays:

Train 2380 will depart Bay Head at 5:28 a.m. make all stops to Long Branch. It will stop at Red Bank, Middletown, Aberdeen-Matawan, and Woodbridge before operating express to Newark Penn Station.

Train 2382 will depart Bay Head at 7:13 a.m. It will make all stops to Long Branch, then stop at Red Bank, Middletown, Aberdeen-Matawan, and Woodbridge before operating express to Newark Penn Station and Hoboken.

Train 2384 will depart Bay Head at 7:28 p.m., making all stops to Long Branch, then operate non-stop to Newark Penn Station and Hoboken.

The following westbound trains will operate on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays:

Train 2381 will depart Hoboken at 9:38 a.m., stop at Newark Penn Station then operate non-stop to Long Branch. After Long Branch, it will make all stops to Bay Head.

Train 2383 will depart Hoboken at 4:40 p.m., stop at Newark Penn Station then operate express to Woodbridge, Aberdeen-Matawan, Middletown, Red Bank and Long Branch. After Long Branch, it will make all stops to Bay Head.

Train 2385 will depart Hoboken at 1:05 a.m. Sundays, Mondays and days after holidays (late night Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays), stop at Newark Penn Station then operate express to Woodbridge, Aberdeen-Matawan, Middletown, Red Bank and Long Branch. After Long Branch it will make all stops to Bay Head.

In addition, due to weekend construction work on the Morris & Essex Lines, some trains schedule will change. Customers are asked to check their line schedules before travel.

The statewide transit agency's bus and rail Weekend Family Super Saver Fare, which allows two children 11 and under to travel free with each fare-paying adult, will be in effect from 7 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday. Senior citizen and round-trip excursion tickets will be valid without restriction throughout the period.
