Half-price parking and new express train service to Secaucus and Hoboken save commuters time and money

NEWARK, NJ ¿ Customers who use the new Ramsey Route 17 station will soon be able to save time and money thanks to new half-price parking discounts and new express train service that shaves 17 minutes off the regular travel time to Hoboken.
¿More commuters in Bergen County are discovering the benefits of using NJ TRANSIT to avoid congested roadways, tolls and other commuting hassles,¿ said NJ TRANSIT Executive Director George D. Warrington. ¿We continue to make using the Ramsey Route 17 Station more attractive to our customers by offering parking discounts and enhancing our rail service to fit busy schedules.¿
Beginning April 1, customers can take a 50 percent discount on multi-month parking rates or receive 10 percent bonus value on their Stored Value Cards when they use the station¿s 1,250-space parking deck. To receive the special rates, customers must purchase their multi-month parking access cards or Stored Value Cards by June 30, 2005.
Customers will get the most significant savings when they buy an annual parking card for $275. That works out to just $1.15 per day¿$445 less than the cost of purchasing 12 individual monthly cards. Other discounted parking options available April 1 through June 30 are:
- A 3-month parking card for $82.50 ($1.38 per day), a savings of $97.50
- A 6-month parking card for $150 ($1.25 per day), a savings of $210
- A 10 percent bonus on Stored Value Cards used for daily parking. The weekday parking rate is $4 before 10 a.m., and $2 after 10 a.m. and on the weekends.

New express trains save up to 17 minutes from Ramsey 17
In addition to lower parking fees, morning commuters from Ramsey Route 17 will have two new express trains to get them Secaucus and Hoboken even faster, beginning April 24:
- Train 1102 will depart Ramsey Route 17 Station at 5:56 a.m., stop at Secaucus Junction at 6:26 a.m., and arrive at Hoboken at 6:38 a.m. This shaves 17 minutes off of the regular travel time between Ramsey 17 and Hoboken.
- Train 1104 will depart Ramsey Route 17 Station at 8:11 a.m., stop at Secaucus Junction at 8:45 a.m., and arrive at Hoboken at 8:57 a.m., shaving six minutes off of the regular travel time.
