EXTRA TRAINS WILL OPERATE FOR BELMAR ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE
Beverages Will Not be Permitted on any NJ TRANSIT vehicle on Sunday, March 1st

NEWARK, NJ — NJ TRANSIT is offering extra rail service for the Belmar St. Patrick’s Day parade on Sunday, March 1st on the North Jersey Coast Line between Long Branch and Bay Head to accommodate parade-goers.
Eleven additional rail trips—five northbound and six southbound—will be added, resulting in hourly service between Bay Head and Long Branch during the following hours:
- From Bay Head to Long Branch from 9:21 a.m. until 9:19 p.m.
- From Long Branch to Bay Head from 8:46 a.m. until 10:46 p.m.
Every train operating between Long Branch and Bay Head will stop at Belmar. Customers traveling from points north of Long Branch, including Newark and New York, should transfer across the platform at Long Branch station to continue their trip to Belmar. Service between New York and Long Branch will operate on a regular weekend schedule.
IMPORTANT NOTE: No beverages of any kind, in any type of container, open or closed, will be permitted on board trains, buses or light rail vehicles on Sunday, March 1. This policy will be strictly enforced. As a reminder, beverages of any kind are not permitted at any time on board buses regardless of the event.
Families can take advantage of NJ TRANSIT’s Family SuperSaver Fare, which allows up to two children ages 5-11 to ride free with a fare-paying customer every weekend, from 7 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday. Up to three kids four years of age or younger ride free at all times with a customer paying any valid fare.
NJ TRANSIT will have customer service ambassadors on hand at Long Branch to assist customers.
