NJT-10-009
NEWARK, NJ — Due to low ridership and worsening weather conditions, NJ TRANSIT service will be modified during the afternoon and evening hours today.
Customers are advised of the following:
- Rail Service: Rail service will be reduced after 2:30 p.m. Some trains will be combined and others will be cancelled. Customers should expect delays and check njtransit.com before traveling. Customers who transfer at Secaucus Junction or Newark Penn Station should also check for changes to connecting service.
- Bus Service: While every effort will be made to continue operating bus service throughout the state, customers may experience delays, detours or service suspensions on their routes during extreme weather conditions. Customers are advised to plan accordingly and anticipate disruptions to bus service.
- River Line: Customers traveling between Walter Rand Transportation Center and Trenton Transit Center should expect delays as snow accumulates.
- Access Link: All Access Link paratransit service is cancelled statewide today and will be cancelled again tomorrow.
To give customers additional travel options during expected winter weather conditions, NJ TRANSIT is announcing full systemwide cross-honoring again tomorrow, February 11, enabling customers to use their ticket or pass on an alternate travel mode—rail, bus or light rail. For example, customers who normally take the bus from Rutherford to the Port Authority Bus Terminal may use their bus pass on the train from Rutherford to New York Penn Station. Similarly, customers who normally take the bus between Atlantic City and Lindenwold may use the train instead.
In addition, all NJ TRANSIT rail station buildings and waiting rooms will remain open extended hours, including evenings and overnight, through Monday, February 15, due to extreme cold weather conditions.
