PPE Machines Debut
Need a face mask or disposable gloves? Running low on hand sanitizer or wipes? In an effort to continue slowing the spread of COVID-19, NJ TRANSIT has been installing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) vending machines at select stations and terminals to help you out.
Purchasing items is easy and affordable. For example, face masks will be sold in several configurations, with a single 3-ply disposable mask costing $1 and a 10-pack of KN95 masks selling for $25. Reusable fashion masks, small bottles of hand sanitizer and disposable gloves will also be sold in the machines. The new PPE machines accept cash or credit cards and are managed and stocked by a third-party vendor.
The new machines have been installed at major terminals and some heavily used stations, including Newark Penn Station, Hoboken Terminal, Secaucus Junction, Summit, Metropark and New Brunswick. Additional machines will be installed at select stations over the coming weeks and will be available at least through the end of the year.
Stay Safe and please follow all NJ TRANSIT COVID-19 safety guidelines and requirements, including wearing a face covering while in NJ TRANSIT stations, on platforms and traveling onboard rail, bus, light rail and Access Link vehicles.
