New TVM Rollout Continues
Have you seen our new ticket vending machines (TVMs) yet? The brightly colored machines incorporating the latest technology are being installed at a growing number of locations, replacing older TVMs at stations and terminals.
The new TVMs have improved, with customer-friendly features, making them quicker and easier to use. Advanced technology allows customers to purchase tickets and passes using contactless cards and mobile wallet applications; no need to insert debit/credit cards into the new machines. The TVMs also have faster printers and new displays that provide customers with up-to-date travel information and advisories, and include audible and visual instructions for customers with disabilities.
The latest rollout will see TVM installations at the following bus locations: Wildwood Bus Terminal, Atlantic City Bus Terminal, Greyhound Bus Terminal in Philadelphia, Avandale Park & Ride in Sicklerville, Lakewood Bus Terminal, Howell Park & Ride, Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden, Old Bridge Park & Ride, Journal Square in Jersey City, and Union Hill Park & Ride in Marlboro.
Previous installations have been completed at Allwood Park & Ride in Clifton, Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center, Trenton Transit Center, Edison, Metuchen, Hamilton and Princeton Junction stations on the Northeast Corridor, Tonnelle Avenue Station on Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, and Branch Brook Park and Broad Street light rail stations on Newark Light Rail. Further deployments of the new TVMs are being planned.
As a reminder, don’t forget the NJ TRANSIT Mobile app, where tickets and passes can be purchased on your iOS or Android mobile device using a credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or PayPal. Additionally, the app can help you plan your trip and get real-time bus and train information.
