Rolling Into a New School Year With Student Pass

Believe it or not, summer is almost over, and it is time to go back to school! In support of our “While You've Been Away” campaign, NJ TRANSIT is excited to welcome back students heading to class this fall with our Student Pass! 

Students can save up to 60 percent on NJ TRANSIT rail, bus, and light rail fares with an NJ TRANSIT Student Pass. And that's not all! As a special welcome back promotion, students who Buy 3 Months, Get 1 Month Free! To qualify, you must buy a student monthly pass via the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App® for three consecutive months: September, October and November of 2021.

Enrolling through your participating college's website is easy! To get started, log onto your school's site and search for “Student Pass” or “NJ TRANSIT” to find the registration web page. Next, follow the on-screen steps to register and verify your student email address. Then, download the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App and enter your Student Pass login information. 

Each month, the Student Pass ticket choice will display on the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App when passes become available. Purchase of your Monthly Student Pass is available beginning at 5 p.m. on the 19th of the previous month, through the 10th day of the month in which the pass is valid (for example, for a September pass, purchase your Student Pass from 5 p.m. August 19th - September 10th).
 
Only back for a few classes? We also offer other flexible ticketing options for students! 

  • FLEXPASS – College students needing more flexibility in their commute may choose FLEXPASS as their best option. FLEXPASS offers customers 20 one-way trips at a 20 percent discount off full-fare tickets. Learn more at www.njtransit.com/flexpass. 
  • Student Tickets – Students attending NJ TRANSIT accredited post-secondary schools, colleges and universities can complete an application to purchase a rail monthly pass at a 25 percent discount from rail ticket offices. The respective school/college must verify the application. This offer is available only for a rail pass.
