NJ TRANSIT Now Offers Free Rides to Vaccine Appointments!
Phase two of our VAXRIDE initiative is here, and it includes free rides!
On May 4th, we kicked off a new public-private partnership to help New Jersey residents get vaccinated by offering complimentary rides to and from COVID-19 vaccination sites.
This phase of our VAXRIDE program is funded through the generosity of sponsors led by Novartis and provides for approximately 11,000 New Jersey residents to receive up to two free round trips to get vaccinated. Our second sponsor, New Jersey-based Catalent, a global provider of drug delivery technologies and manufacturing solutions, has also donated to help launch this phase.
Complimentary tickets are offered for bus, rail, and light rail customers through the NJ TRANSIT mobile app, by visiting one of our Customer Service office locations or by calling our Customer Service hotline at 973-275-5555.
To obtain your complimentary ticket on the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App, simply enter promo code “VAXRIDE”, which can be redeemed online for two complimentary round-trip tickets. Tickets will be limited to intrastate travel only (destinations within New Jersey) and valid only to stations within New Jersey.
Certified Access Link customers can also enjoy this benefit online or by mentioning the program when calling to make a reservation.
Don’t forget to check out our VAXRIDE page and use our user-friendly map to find vaccination sites conveniently served by NJ TRANSIT bus, train or light rail routes. The handy Vaccine Locator search tool, also located on this page, will provide vaccine sites within a specific distance of a street address, such as within five miles of your home address. The results from the search will include the names, addresses, phone numbers and website addresses of all vaccine sites within that designated distance, as well as the bus, train, or light rail routes that operate near those locations.
NJ TRANSIT thanks its VAXRIDE partners for their generous support!
