REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS Newark Penn Station Retail Concession
NJ TRANSIT is interested in receiving Expressions of Interest from experienced, financially sound individuals or entities to propose the operation of a retail concession at NJ TRANSIT’s Newark Penn Station.
NJ TRANSIT’s Newark Pennsylvania Station is located in the heart of Newark’s Ironbound District, a rejuvenated downtown neighborhood that is home to the city’s premier locations including the corporate headquarters of Prudential and Panasonic, One Gateway Center shopping concourse and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. The station is used by many patrons of the Prudential Center Arena (“The Rock”) which hosts over 200 events a year, including musical performances by some of the world’s most famous and prevalent artists, and is home to the NHL’s New Jersey Devils, the NCAA’s Seton Hall Pirates.
NJ TRANSIT Rail Ridership attracts approximately 16,000 average weekday passengers to the Hub. Other transportation services available within the Station include NJ Transit Light Rail and Bus, Amtrak Rail, and PATH lines. Connections from this Station are made to Midtown NYC, the World Trade Center, Jersey City’s Newport Center and downtown Hoboken within minutes.
The available space known as “Space N,” was previously used as an interstate bus service terminal consisting of approximately 3,629 square feet located adjacent to the main waiting room and includes street access to Raymond Blvd. Proposers should include attractive improvements and designs that will complement the recent improvements to the retail environment at Newark Penn Station.
Selection of a Lessee(s) will be based upon review of proposals submitted to NJ TRANSIT in response to a Request for Proposal package issued to parties submitting an Expression of Interest.
Please submit an Expression of Interest.
