REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS Elizabeth Station Leasing Opportunity

NJ TRANSIT is interested in receiving Expressions of Interest from experienced, financially sound individuals or entities for the operation of a business at the newly constructed Elizabeth Station.

The station, located along NJ TRANSIT’s Northeast Corridor, has just undergone approximately $71 million in renovations. Modernizing the Station with new inbound and outbound station buildings, improved ADA access, and longer platforms for additional boarding capacity. Conveniently located just steps away from downtown Elizabeth, the station offers easy access to a bustling urban center, ensuring a constant flow of foot traffic and customer engagement. With direct passenger service to Manhattan, Newark Liberty Airport, and Trenton, Elizabeth Station serves as a vital transportation hub for commuters and travelers alike.


NJ TRANSIT seeks to lease the approximately 500 SF retail space located in the outbound building with windows overlooking the renovated plaza. Additionally, the inbound building, connected by the restored pedestrian tunnel, offers a satellite location of approximately 120 SF, complete with service window. While the vision is to have a single entity operate both retail locations, NJ TRANSIT remains open to the possibility of separate proposals, allowing for flexibility in lease arrangements.


Selection of a Lessee(s) will be based upon review of proposals submitted to NJ TRANSIT in response to a Request for Proposal package issued to parties submitting an Expression of Interest.
