EXTRA TRAINS TO OPERATE FOR HOBOKEN ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE

Kids ride free with NJ TRANSIT's Family Super Saver

NEWARK, NJ —
NJ TRANSIT is making it easy for families to take the train and “go green” to the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Hoboken Saturday, March 7, 2009 with additional round trips on the Morris & Essex Lines between Summit and Hoboken.

 

Eleven additional rail trips—five to Hoboken and six from Hoboken—will result in convenient, hourly service between Summit and Hoboken at key travel periods throughout the day.  Customers traveling from or to points west of Summit (e.g. Dover or Gladstone) may transfer to/from the extra trains at Summit Station.

 

In addition, families can take advantage of NJ TRANSIT’s Family Super Saver Fare, which allows up to two children ages 5-11 to ride free with a fare-paying adult every weekend, from 7 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday.  Kids under 5 ride free at all times.

 

In addition to its regular Saturday schedule, NJ TRANSIT will provide extra train service on March 7 between Summit and Hoboken as follows:

  • Hourly service from Summit to Hoboken from 8:57 a.m. until 12:57 p.m.
  • Hourly service from Hoboken to Summit from 4:05 p.m. until 9:07 p.m.
