HOLIDAY SERVICE – Labor Day Weekend (Friday, September 4 – Monday, September 7)

NJ TRANSIT is helping customers get a head start on their Labor Day weekend celebrations with "early getaway" rail and bus service on Friday, September 4 to accommodate those leaving early for the holiday.

On September 7, NJ TRANSIT train service will operate on a regular weekend/holiday schedule. Bus service will operate on a weekend/holiday schedule. NJ TRANSIT Light Rail lines will operate on a weekend/holiday schedule.

NJ TRANSIT operates on a holiday schedule on the following days: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans’ Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.


Service levels may differ from regular weekday or weekend schedules. Customers are encouraged to check schedules in advance and allow extra travel time when planning trips on these dates.
